Fallout (C) Bethesda Photo: Taken by.. my mom XD Edited in Photoshop CS5, masked with a sepia tone, Official Logo from Fallout: New Vegas.
This is my Fallout New Vegas NCR Veteran Ranger Cosplay! Yes, that is me in the picture. I had my mom take pictures of me at her house, this picture is at an angle because I told her to "be artistic" just joking around, but I ended up loving it, even if the angle is slightly awkward.
This costume took FOREVER to make and cost roughly $200 when all was said and done... because I had to buy so many materials. I used lots of references from the web of other talented people who made this costume, many of them who gladly answered any questions I had on the build. My mask has working lights and a mini CPU fan to help me breath!
Im super proud of how it turned out. This is 100% made by me, from the jacket I sewed, to the mask I made (pepakura) to the armor. Many hours went into this. There are a few things I need to change or want to make differently, but thats for another day.
If you have any questions on the build, Ill try my best to help or point you in the right direction
Its liquid plastic, I had to special order it for like $30 and mix stuff together, like science! Then paint on several layers. Its from Smooth Cast 321 I think.
The best glue I have found (if you are doing pepakura type projects) is called 'Tacky' glue. It's in a bronze cylinder, and you can find it at most craft stores. It's amazing and dirt cheap.
THe helmet or the mask or both? The actual helmet is an army helmet liner, type M1 I think it was called. I ordered some online that were just the plastic shells, but they didnt have the straps. My dad who was in the army gave me his helmet. I just used the liner with the straps so it would sit correctly on my head. Dont use the metal part, too heavy! Just the liner. Its hard plastic and you can paint it. The mask is pepakura, just google pepakura and you can find the file for it. Basically, made out of paper, glue, and I used liquid plastic to harden it
